Each Lumecca treatment journey at our clinic in Marylebone starts with an in-depth consultation. We will discuss your concerns and expected outcome and will put together a suitable plan for treatment. Lumecca can greatly benefit the overall appearance of the skin, which can be used on the face, neck, decolletage, hands and body. Your Senior Therapist may suggest treatments to further improve your results to work alongside your Lumecca treatments, such as Clear and Brilliant, medical grade skincare, medical microneedling, Morpheus 8 and medical grade facials.

At our skin clinic in Marylebone, we ensure to use the latest and most advanced technology available on the market. Lumecca by Inmode is an IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device, using a handpiece to deliver powerful bursts of light to the skin. Specific wavelengths of light are absorbed by the red or brown pigments in the skin, which get destroyed when light energy turns to heat. The advanced technology used in Lumecca can specifically target the imperfections without damaging the surrounding skin and tissues. Our experienced therapists often suggest undergoing a course of 3- 6 treatments, depending on your concerns. A pre-treatment consultation and patch test is required to assess your suitability. We also have 2 different attachments in order to safely treat various skin tones.

Although Lumecca is a comfortable treatment with minimal side effects, your skin may develop some sensitivity afterwards – similar to being exposed to the sun. For around 48 hours it will be beneficial to wash the treated area carefully, using gentle products. You should also be mindful that your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, so wearing an appropriate SPF30+ is advised. If any flaking or crusts appear, please resist the urge to pick at them as they will shed on their own to reveal fresh skin underneath. We advise no significant sun exposure for 1 month following treatment and using SPF 30+ daily to protect your new, fresh skin.

However, avoid Lumecca if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This is due to the limited research on their safety during pregnancy. It is also not suitable if you have been on Roaccutan in the last 6 months to a year.

Lumecca is generally comfortable and doesn’t hurt. You will be wearing protective eye covers throughout your treatment, and you may be able to feel a sensation like a hot elastic band snapping against the skin as the treatment is performed, but this sensation is found to be very manageable. Your therapist will work with you throughout treatment to ensure your comfort.

Yes, but they are minimal. For the few days that follow treatment, the skin may feel more sensitive than usual, especially when it is exposed to the sun. It would be normal for the skin to develop some slight flaking and/or small crusts on the surface, which occurs as the unwanted skin cells are expelled. Areas of pigmentation may get darker before they flake off and areas of redness sometimes become darker temporarily before they improve over the course of a week. This does not always occur, and the treatment is still effective, but if it does, you must not pick at it to minimise the risk of further pigmentation or scarring.

Yes, Lumecca can help with signs of ageing. While its primary purpose is to target pigmentation, redness, and sun damage, improving skin tone and texture can also give a more youthful appearance.
