Our lip filler treatment process always begins with a thorough consultation. Putting together a personalised treatment plan means we need to consider both your concerns and the results you’re expecting to achieve. We will require your written consent before we proceed with the lip filler treatment. We apply a dental block before the procedure to ensure you are completely numb and the treatment is therefore pain free, which allows our aesthetic clinicians to produce the best possible result. We carry out our lip filler treatment with either a fine needle or a cannula, or a combination of both, depending on which method is best suited to your lips. Our aesthetic clinic in Marylebone uses the highest quality dermal fillers that are specially formulated to work with the delicate nature of the lips.

It is important that you try not to touch the treated area for 4 – 6 hours post treatment. We advise you to avoid make-up for 24 hours and avoid significant pressure on the lips for 1 week. We also advise that you avoid any dental procedure that will involve pulling the lips for at least 3 weeks. Other things to avoid include saunas, steam rooms, facials or sun exposure for 1 week, following the treatment. You should also avoid alcohol for the first 48 hours in order to minimise bruising.

Lip fillers typically last up to 2 months, depending on factors such as the type of filler used, your metabolism, lifestyle, and how much product is injected. Over time, your body gradually breaks down the filler, and you may start to notice a slow return to your natural lip shape.

Some people find that results last longer with consistent maintenance, as repeated treatments can help build and maintain volume more effectively. To keep your lips looking their best, we usually recommend top up treatments.

Immediate side effects may include: numbness from the dental block, tenderness, swelling, asymmetry, bruising and redness around the lips. On average it takes approximately 1 week to start to love your lips with the final result visible at around 4 – 6 weeks.
