During filler dissolution, a qualified practitioner injects hyaluronidase, an enzyme that works to break down hyaluronic acid fillers. This process reverses undesired effects, such as overfilling or irregularities. The enzyme works swiftly to dissolve the filler, promoting a smoother, more natural appearance. Often a patch test is carried out on the day to ensure that you are not allergic to the product.  Results are noticeable within a few hours to a few days. Occasionally more than one dissolving session is required to remove filler especially if there are larger quantities or heavier filler was used. Filler treatment can be done following a dissolve a minimum of 5 days later.

After a filler dissolve, you will be advised to avoid saunas, steam rooms, facials or excessive sun exposure for a week, intense physical activity or alcohol for 2 days, touching the treated area for a few hours or applying makeup until the next day. Swelling and redness may occur temporarily as hyaluronidase as an irritant even if you are not allergic to the ingredient.
